Hicksville has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will face off against the Woodlan Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Hicksville will be strutting in after a win while Woodlan will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Hicksville made off with a 37-36 victory over Continental.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Woodlan, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-51 loss to Eastside on Tuesday. Woodlan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brooke Kneubuhler, who scored 17 points along with 8 assists and 6 steals. She scored a full 33.3% of Woodlan's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The win got Hicksville back to even at 1-1. As for Woodlan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Hicksville came up short against Woodlan when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 64-51. Can Hicksville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
