Basketball Recap: Bisbee Falls Despite Big Games from Isabella Solis and Yaslin Hernandez

Bisbee lost against Tombstone back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bisbee Pumas fell 58-47 to the Tombstone Yellow Jackets. The Pumas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Yaslin Hernandez and Isabella Solis certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hernandez posted 17 points and eight rebounds, while Solis put up 12 points and eight rebounds. Solis has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nicole Ceja, who had seven points.

Tombstone's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel Thursby, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 18 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Damaris Alvarez, who posted 16 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Bisbee's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Tombstone, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Bisbee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-21 win against Valley Union on the 13th. As for Tombstone, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-48 victory against Benson on the 10th.
