Basketball Recap: Newman International Academy Skates Past Uplift Infinity Prep with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newman International Academy). They blew past Uplift Infinity Prep 83-19 on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with Uplift Infinity Prep recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Newman International Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Todah Akinyele, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points and seven rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Akinyele now owns an excellent 57.1% three-point shooting accuracy. Noah Palmer was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards.

Newman International Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The win got Newman International Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Uplift Infinity Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Newman International Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Heritage Christian Athletics at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Uplift Infinity Prep, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on UME Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 8.
