West Grand has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Vail Christian Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Grand's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Last Friday, West Grand got themselves on the board against Hayden, but Hayden never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 40-0 win over the Tigers at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point West Grand had established a 32 point advantage.
West Grand's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Terryberry, who threw for 338 yards and six touchdowns on only 17 passes. Another player making a difference was Joe Probst, who picked up 181 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Vail Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past Soroco 67-14 at home. With Vail Christian ahead 46-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Their wins bumped West Grand to 7-0 and Vail Christian to 5-2.
Things could have been worse for West Grand, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-36 loss to Vail Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for West Grand, Taylor Shull (who rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
