After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rockwell Christian School, Fayetteville Street Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over the Shining Light Baptist Academy Sharks. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 14-11 victory the Sharks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.
Connor Allred made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Allred was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Colton Thornsbury was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-3.
The win got Fayetteville Street Christian back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayetteville Street Christian is headed away from home for the first time to face off against True Gospel Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shining Light Baptist Academy, they will face off against Rockwell Christian School at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th.
