The Lake Ridge Academy Royals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. The game between Lake Ridge Academy and Christian Community wasn't particularly close, with Lake Ridge Academy falling 60-43. While losing is never fun, Lake Ridge Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 799th, while Christian Community is ranked 388th).
Leading Christian Community to victory were Nate Miller and Grant Doeringer. Miller scored 20 points, while Doeringer dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Doeringer is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gabe McQueen, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Lake Ridge Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Christian Community, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Lake Ridge Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lawrence Upper at 5:30 p.m. Christian Community won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Reimer Road Baptist Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Reimer Road Baptist Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Christian Community likes a good challenge.
