After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Swansea, Horse Creek Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 19-7 margin over the Wagener-Salley War Eagles. With that win, the Stallions brought their scoring average up to 8.2 runs per game.
Iniko Barker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Caden Downey was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. Braxtyn Padgett was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
The victory got Horse Creek Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Wagener-Salley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
