The University Prep Panthers can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Valley 86-55 at home. University Prep is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
University Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sawyer Hokanson, who scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hokanson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Scott Steffan, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
University Prep used a slightly different lineup for their bout with West Valley. And. Caleb Flores made the most of the opportunity, scoring ten points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Despite the loss, West Valley still got an impressive performance from Weston Kibler, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Wyatt Peterson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
University Prep is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for West Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
University Prep will head out on the road to square off against Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Lassen likes a good challenge.
