Cole Cates was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Castle View is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-6 otherwise. Cates was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Feldhake, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Garrett LaMont, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Grandview came up short against Vista PEAK Prep on Tuesday and fell 8-5. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Grandview also got a good showing from Logan Hurtado, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Jackson Bernosky was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Jakson Bush was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Castle View, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Castle View couldn't quite get it done against Grandview in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 5-2. Will the Sabercats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
