The North Daviess Cougars came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 55-40 win over North Central. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North Daviess also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why North Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ethan Willis. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Hardin, who scored 4 points.
North Daviess' win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
North Daviess will head out on the road to face off against Vincennes Rivet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vincennes Rivet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 318th, while North Daviess is ranked 132nd). As for North Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hutsonville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
