The Lakeland Christian Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeland Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 327 points over their last five contests.
Lakeland Christian pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-57 to Mulberry.
Despite the loss, Lakeland Christian had strong showings from D.j. Howard, who scored 20 points along with five assists, and Nate Carpenter, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Howard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Matthew Stephens was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Out-of-Door Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Evangelical Christian by a score of 46-33. Out-of-Door Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lakeland Christian's record now sits at 11-5. Out-of-Door Academy's record now sits at 7-11.
Lakeland Christian and Out-of-Door Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Lakeland Christian came up empty-handed after a 74-73 defeat. Can Lakeland Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
