Fans got a thrill when Harold Herbin and Shawn Barnes connected against Hoke County. The connection was good for 65 yards, the longest such play in 4A Conference 15 this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Pine Forest beat Westover 49-6,. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
E.E. Smith's dynamic duo of Herbin and Barnes proved to be unstoppable against the Bucks, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Herbin threw for 375 yards and 4 touchdowns and Barnes had 145 yards receiving. Vaughn Covington helped E.E. Smith's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 90 yards.
The Golden Bulls' dynamic duo of Herbin and Barnes proved tough for Hoke County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Trey McArn was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 163 yards as South View defeated Milton Butts' team. Jeremy Cox also contributed to the rushing game with 127 yards on the ground.
Nathan Jones made the biggest impact on defense this week as Overhills fell to Lee County. The 5-foot-8 defensive back.
Barnes was the best receiver in 4A Conference 15 this week as Ernest King's team topped the Bucks.
Herbin put up the best numbers through the air as the Golden Bulls beat Hoke County.
E.E. Smith's Herbin and Barnes have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Herbin has thrown for 1,340 yards this season, while Barnes, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 20 catches for 485 yards. Eric Carter from Jack Britt leads the league in rushing with 691 yards.
The Golden Bulls' offense has scored 169 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Pine Forest has allowed only 69 on the year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when E.E. Smith takes on William Sochovka's team. At the moment, the Golden Bulls are in fourth, while the Trojans are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when E.E. Smith and Pine Forest face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Golden Bulls comes in having scored 169 this season, while the Trojans have scored 150. E.E. Smith scored 40 points last week as it defeated the Bucks.
Pine Forest took down the Wolverines 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Myron Fleming threw for 91 yards and ran for 75 yards in the win.
