Woodrow Wilson has gone a perfect 6-0 against Wyoming East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Flying Eagles will head out to square off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Woodrow Wilson came out on top against Oak Hill on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Flying Eagles walked away with a 7-4 win over the Red Devils. The Flying Eagles haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Aubrey Smallwood made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shailee Sexton, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kacie Fraley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.
Woodrow Wilson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wyoming East, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against Midland Trail by a score of 7-3 last Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Like Woodrow Wilson, Wyoming East also got a great game from a two-way player: Carli Raye. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, Raye is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kaydee Shrewsbury was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. Those home runs were her first of the season.
Woodrow Wilson's record now sits at 11-9. As for Wyoming East, their record is now 3-8.
Woodrow Wilson skirted past Wyoming East 10-8 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flying Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
