The Westminster Christian Academy Chargers will head out to square off against the David Thibodaux Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Westminster Christian Academy got the win against Gueydan by a conclusive 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.
Mia Sisco was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Warriors. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bulldogs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Morgan Malveaux made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amalie Harvison, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Aubrey Savini was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
David Thibodaux's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-15. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their record now sits at 5-6.
