Even though the Broadneck Bruins have not done well against the Severna Park Falcons recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Broadneck came out on top against Severna Park by a score of 46-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Broadneck.
Among those leading the charge was Samantha Miller, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Wharton, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Broadneck's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. As for Severna Park, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broadneck is on the road again on Monday and play against Northern at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. Northern is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Severna Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Long Reach at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Long Reach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Severna Park is ranked 64th).
