After a string of three wins, the Lamar Thunder's's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 63-44 to Scott. Lamar found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up 11 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the defeat, Lamar saw an underclassman step up: Jacob Dunning scored 12 points along with 4 steals. Dunning is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Lucas Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Among those leading the charge was Jackson Rumford, who scored 24 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Scott's points. Another player making a difference was Sage Stoecklein, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Scott, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
