The Interlachen Rams's 19-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Menendez on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Interlachen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 625th, while Menendez is ranked 278th).
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kemontae Nixon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Nixon's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Kaleb Mckinnon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Interlachen's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Menendez, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Interlachen won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crescent City at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Crescent City and Interlachen are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Menendez, they will be playing at home against Bishop Kenny at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
