The Doddridge County Bulldogs will head out on the road to  challenge  the Lincoln Cougars at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Doddridge County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Webster County 24-2.
  Phoenix Bonnell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). Bonnell was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Colt Sutton was a standout: he went 2-for-6 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.  Wyatt Cochran was another key contributor,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Lincoln had to endure  a  four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Elkins  an   8-0 shutout  on Thursday.
 Like Doddridge County, Lincoln also got a great game from a two-way player:  Gavin Owens. On the mound, he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Owens was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Will Wolfe, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Maddox Perine, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases.
