Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for East Union

East Union entered their tilt with West Union on Wednesday with four consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the West Union Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Urchins also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Lily Kate Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Johnson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marley Clayton, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Madi Robbins was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

East Union's record is now 2-0. As for West Union, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, East Union and West Union will both be playing Myrtle the next time they take the field. West Union will head out to face Myrtle at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while East Union will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
