After a string of three wins, the Rangeview Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Denver South by a score of 55-53. Rangeview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Denver South apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenny Black-Knox, who scored 13 points along with five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Archie Weatherspoon V, who scored 13 points.
Dominic Rhoades-Martinez was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Denver South. Rhoades-Martinez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Matt Rhoades-martinez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Rangeview now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Denver South, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rangeview will challenge Denver North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rangeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Denver South, they will head out on the road to challenge Vista PEAK Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver South is coming into the match with four straight victories on the road, so Vista PEAK Prep is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
