With a playoff win on the line, St. Johns Country Day rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Covenant School of Jacksonville Warriors 15-0. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Madden Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Preston Cole was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
