Basketball Recap: Ribault Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Ribault won the last time they faced Gainesville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Ribault Trojans walked away with a 61-51 win over the Gainesville Hurricanes. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 39th).

Ribault was led to victory by Trinity Berry and Jacoreyn Andrews. Berry almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine steals, while Andrews posted nine points along with five assists and five steals. With that strong performance, Berry is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Trista Brown, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and three steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for Ribault, bringing their record for this year to 4-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Gainesville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ribault will take on Eagle's View at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gainesville will take on Wildwood in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th at.
