Softball Recap: Bellows Falls Wins Going Away Against Springfield

Bellows Falls won the last time they faced Springfield and things went their way on Saturday too. The Terriers put the hurt on the Cosmos with a sharp 16-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Terriers, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brielle Mulverhill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Bellows Falls got a massive performance out of Cadence James, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases James has posted since back in May of 2025. Delaney Stoodley was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Bellows Falls is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Springfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Bellows Falls will face off against Burr & Burton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Springfield, they will square off against Otter Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Otters' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Cosmos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
