The Centura Centurions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Gibbon 72-23 at home. Centura has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
Kyra Wooden continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. That's the first time this season that she posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Davis, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Brooke Sell and Claire Clark certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Sell scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Clark scored six points along with two steals.
Centura has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Gibbon, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Centura won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Gibbon, they will head out on the road to square off against Giltner at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Giltner comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
