Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orange). They blew past Varsity Opponent 86-52 on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Orange's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kai Wade, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. That's the most assists Wade has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Xandrell Pennix, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Orange smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive contests.
Orange has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Orange and East Wake will round out the year against one another at at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Orange knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully East Wake likes a good challenge. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-49 defeat against Berean Baptist Academy on the 23rd.
