Baseball Game Preview: Boyd Anderson Cobras vs. Stranahan Mighty Dragons

The Boyd Anderson Cobras are taking a road trip to take on the Stranahan Mighty Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Boyd Anderson has three straight wins, Stranahan has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, Boyd Anderson made easy work of Blanche Ely and carried off an 18-2 victory. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 11 runs or more this season.

Prince Mcdonald was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Mcdonald is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Boyd Anderson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .875. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Stranahan lost 21-2 to Fort Lauderdale on Monday.

Derek Bernard was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Boyd Anderson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Stranahan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Boyd Anderson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Stranahan struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Boyd Anderson was able to grind out a solid win over Stranahan when the teams last played back in March, winning 11-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cobras since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
