The Center Hill Mustangs and the Neshoba Central Rockets squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Center Hill Mustangs had to settle for second. Center Hill had to suffer through a rough 41-14 loss at the hands of Neshoba Central. While losing is never fun, Center Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Neshoba Central is ranked 33rd).
Neshoba Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charles StevensonJr led the charge by picking up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Neshoba Central also got a significant boost from Mekhi Gaddis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 152 yards.
Center Hill has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Neshoba Central, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Center Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Neshoba Central will take on South Panola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with South Panola sitting on nine straight wins and Neshoba Central on three.
