The Heritage Mountaineers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Heritage made easy work of Carter and carried off a 20-2 victory.

Payton Hasty tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Portlyn Bennett, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Hayes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carter only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Eagleton College & Career Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 15-10 win over Seymour.
Kyla Long was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Eagleton College & Career Academy got a massive performance out of Karli Brabson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Emma Garrett, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Eagleton College & Career Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Heritage, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
