Given Flatirons Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Liberty Common is ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Flatirons Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Dehaan led the charge by scoring 13 points along with three steals. Brylin Gomer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 rebounds and ten blocks.
Flatirons Academy's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.8 points. As for Liberty Common, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flatirons Academy will take on Belleview Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belleview Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Liberty Common, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Strasburg at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
