Loris is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They didn't even let Fox Creek on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 11-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Jessie Cartrette was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haley Spence, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Riley Herring was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Loris was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in 11 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Aynor got themselves on the board against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on Friday, but Oceanside Collegiate Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Landsharks. The Blue Jackets have beaten the Landsharks the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Landsharks has come to flipping the script.
Loris' record is now 24-4. As for Aynor, their record now sits at 19-4.
Loris couldn't quite get it done against Aynor when the teams last played back in April as they fell 4-0. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
