Pallotti has gone a perfect 3-0 against Key recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will square off against the Obezags at 4:15 p.m. Pallotti has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Pallotti came up short against Park School on Thursday, falling 12-3. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Pallotti saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makhai Barber, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another was Gus Chackmakian-Lodge, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Key entered their tilt with Friends on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Quakers. The Obezags might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Sean Flynn was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Key: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Wyatt Dowton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Key kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive matchups.
Pallotti now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Key, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pallotti hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Key struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pallotti was able to grind out a solid victory over Key in their previous matchup back in April, winning 11-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
