Hillcrest hasn't had much luck against Kearns recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Huskies will welcome the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Hillcrest is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Hillcrest will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Cyprus, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Pirates 16-14.

Bailey Terry was incredible, firing off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avilynn Godfrey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kearns challenged West Jordan on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 6-5. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Haylee Heaton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Sky Aguirre made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Aguirre, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Kearns, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hillcrest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386. However, it's not like Kearns struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hillcrest beat Kearns 12-8 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
