Cartersville (Ga.) snapped
Gordon Central (Calhoun, Ga.)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 41-19 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Hurricanes led 21-13 at the half.
Cartersville expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
MJ Reynolds made a difference for the Warriors. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Gordon Central came in giving up 6.5 points per game this season.
The loss comes after Gordon Central defeated Coahulla Creek 46-0 last week.
In a AAA Region 5 game next week Cartersville (7-0) takes on Adairsville, and Gordon Central (6-1) will go up against Sonoraville also in a AAA Region 5 game.
