The Blackman Blaze were the 62-28 winner over the Rockvale when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Blackman fell to Rockvale 27-22. Blackman has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Blackman lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Guy. Despite the final result, he picked up 122 receiving yards and a touchdown. Campbell Lee got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Blackman's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Rockvale, Riverdale, and Oakland. As for Rockvale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blackman will take on Coffee County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockvale, they will play host again and welcome Siegel, where Kickoff is scheduled for TBD on Friday. Siegel comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
