The Rancho Rams were the 58-37 winner over the Sunrise Mountain Miners when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Rancho falling 67-51. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rancho lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taylor Dagons, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Dagons has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaelle Phipps, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Sunrise Mountain, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho will challenge Cimarron-Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Cimarron-Memorial is ranked 31st, while Rancho is ranked 46th). As for Sunrise Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Del Sol is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
