Thomas Pajor and Keenan Davis provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Downers Grove South. The longest such play in West Suburban - Gold this season, the connection resulted in 51 yards.
Willowbrook added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Morton, 49-19. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Warriors.
Willowbrook's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brian Johnson threw for 310 and 3 touchdowns and Devin Childress had 100 yards receiving. On the ground Jeremy Barnes chipped in 226 yards. Barnes helped Willowbrook's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 87 yards.
He went 17-27 with 0 interception.
Barnes was a beast in the backfield as Nick Hildreth's team defeated the Mustangs.
Childress was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors topped Morton. Childress tallied 5 receptions for 100 yards. Barnes helped Willowbrook's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 87 yards.
Willowbrook's Johnson and Hayden Adams led West Suburban - Gold in both passing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 958 yards this season, while Adams, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 18 catches for 301 yards. Aaron Whigham from Leyden leads the league in rushing with 721 yards.
The Warriors are in first place, while Proviso East is in sixth place.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Eagles and Hinsdale South face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Leyden comes in having scored 96 this season, while the Hornets have scored 120. Tom Cerasani's team scored 24 points last week as it fell to the Mustangs.
Willowbrook took down Eric Lyons' team 49-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Johnson ran for 31 yards during the win.
