The Brentwood Academy Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Fairview Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairview took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Brentwood Academy, who comes in off a win.
Brentwood Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Brentwood, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Bruins on Wednesday.
Ashley Hill made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Hill was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Maddie Gaburick was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kate Kane, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Harpeth hit Fairview with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellowjackets took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Yellowjackets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Indians since Monday.
Maddie McGowan made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Allie Penning was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Brentwood Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Brentwood Academy got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Fairview by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
