After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Taylorsville, Murray was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Hunter Wolverines. Considering the Spartans have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bode Gladhart tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Degan Biltz was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Bryson Preece was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Murray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hunter only posted an OBP of .353.
Murray is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Hunter, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.
