Wakulla (Crawfordville, Fla.) took an early lead against North Florida Christian (Tallahassee, Fla.) and held on for a 59-28 victory on Saturday.
The War Eagles put up eight points in the opening frame. Wakulla scored on a passing touchdown and a safety.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, WHS was up 28-10 at the half.
The Crawfordville school grew its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. The War Eagles scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Feleipe Franks to
Jordan Franks.
Franks was the top performer for Wakulla. The sophomore quarterback threw three touchdowns and kicked one field goal. A member of the Class of 2016 Top 100 Watch List, Franks has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The Eagles came in allowing just 15.3 points per game this season. North Florida Christian struggled against Wakulla's offense, which entered the game scoring 26.3 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Crawfordville school came away with a 38-7 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for North Florida Christian, which notched a 52-6 victory over Agape Christian Academy in its previous outing.
