Creekside has gone 8-2 against Atlantic Coast recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Knights will challenge the Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Creekside sitting on four straight wins and Atlantic Coast on three.
Creekside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sandalwood as they made off with a 12-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly ten runs.
Carly Dall and Arianna Carrigan were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Dall didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Carrigan pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Dall went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Carrigan went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits Carrigan has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Presley Brinkley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Maya Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Creekside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sandalwood only posted a batting average of .211.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Coast won against Fernandina Beach last Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Stingrays beat Flagler Palm Coast by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2.
Lily Maguire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits.
On the hitting side, Audrina Bailey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Cano, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Creekside's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Atlantic Coast, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.
Creekside couldn't quite finish off Atlantic Coast when the teams last played back in March and fell 4-2. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
