Softball Recap: Oxford Academy Wins Going Away Against Glenn

Oxford Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Glenn on Tuesday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Emily Ganguly made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Danelia Paniagua was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Shay Tiettmeyer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Oxford Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Oxford Academy's record is now 13-3. As for Glenn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.

Oxford Academy has already played their next match, a 7-6 victory against Whitney on the 4th. As for Glenn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-1 defeat against Cerritos on the 4th.
