After two games on the road, Lower Cape May is heading back home. They will take on the Wildwood Warriors at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Lower Cape May knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Wildwood likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Lower Cape May didn't have too much trouble with Glassboro on the road as they won 68-49.
Meanwhile, even though Gloucester Catholic scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Wildwood still came out on top. Wildwood walked away with a 65-58 victory over Gloucester Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wildwood.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wildwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Fusik, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fusik has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Junior Hans, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Lower Cape May pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Wildwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Lower Cape May didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Wildwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. Does Lower Cape May have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wildwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
