Given Pima's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Tombstone lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rachel Thursby. Despite the final result, she scored ten points.

They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.9 points. As for Tombstone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
Pima will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. David is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Tombstone, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Wildkats at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Duncan's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so the Yellow Jackets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
