Basketball Recap: Natalie Hardwick Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Moriarty

Goddard won the last time they faced Moriarty and things went their way on Thursday too. The Goddard Rockets were the clear victor by a 56-30 margin over the Moriarty Pintos. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Goddard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Hardwick, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Hardwick has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmin De Leon, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Goddard was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moriarty only racked up three assists.

Moriarty's loss came despite strong showings from Abbie Beukelman and Jackie Rivas. Beukelman earned seven points and nine boards, while Rivas scored two points and 11 rebounds.

Goddard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Moriarty, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Goddard has already played their next game, a 63-61 victory against Tucumcari on the 17th. As for Moriarty, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-14 win against Socorro on the 18th.
