Salina Central won the last time they faced Goddard and things went their way on Friday too. The Salina Central Mustangs walked away with a 44-37 win over the Goddard Lions.

Goddard's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Presley Schmidt, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Schmidt has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Healy, who scored five points and three steals.

Salina Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Goddard, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Coming up, Salina Central will challenge Newton on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Salina Central has lost four straight at home , while Newton has lost eight on the road. As for Goddard, they will face off against Andover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Andover's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.
