Western will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against Huntington Beach in at 3:00 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Western had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Cerritos 34-6.
Meanwhile, Huntington Beach had to kick off their season on the road last Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They steamrollered Canyon 45-7.
Their wins bumped Huntington Beach to 1-0 and Western to 1-0. With both Huntington Beach and Western swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
