Carver has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will take on the Jordan Red Jackets in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. at. Carver knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Jordan likes a good challenge.
Carver has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Shaw on Friday as Carver made off with a 78-54 win. Given Carver's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Shaw is ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jakobe Caslin and Tony Montgomery were among the main playmakers for Carver as the former scored 15 points along with five steals and the latter scored 29 points along with five rebounds. The game was Montgomery 's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Champ Simpson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Jordan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 67-55 to Columbus. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Carver's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Carver took their win against Jordan when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 96-74. Does Carver have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jordan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
