University Lab faced Parkview Baptist in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cubs fell just short of the Eagles by a score of  4-3.  Nicholus Zeringue was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Jaris Hamilton was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ethan Hopkins, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
University Lab's  loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 21-9. As for Parkview Baptist, the  win was  the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-6.
While University Lab had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
