Hough extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping them up to 5-2. They strolled past the Davie County War Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 73-55. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Huskies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the War Eagles are ranked 35th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Davie County fell to 6-1. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Davie County lost, don't look at Noah Dulin. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-19 on his way to 22 points along with eight boards and three steals. Dulin's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Swisher, who shot 83% from the field en route to 12 points.

Coincidentally, Hough and Davie County will both be playing West Mecklenburg the next time they take the court. The War Eagles will head out to face the Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Huskies will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
