Meanwhile, Norfolk came into Monday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Lincoln High a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Norfolk let Jordan Schnoor and Ayden Papstein run wild. Schnoor scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Papstein scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Papstein also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Disch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Lincoln Southwest and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Norfolk, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Lincoln Southwest's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Silver Hawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Norfolk, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lincoln Southwest continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Lincoln Southwest's way against Norfolk in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Lincoln Southwest made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silver Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
